Mriya - the world’s largest transport aircraft AN-225 built by Ukrainian engineers and aircraft builders. Its codename is translated from Ukrainian - a Dream. This aircraft was the flagship of the world aviation fleet.
The dimensions of this aircraft were indeed unique: Its length is 84 meters, its height is 18.2 m. To understand these figures, imagine a six-story building with four entrances. The “Mriya” weighed 550 tons and could lift another 250. This is an absolute record among the heavier-than-air vehicles that have ever been airborne on the planet. "Mriya" could transport a herd of 42 elephants, for example. Or a million iPhones. Or a whole Boeing 737.
In the history of the flights of the Mriya AN-225, there were episodes of transportation of giraffes, yachts, and parts of power plants. On its fuselage, the first Soviet «Shuttle» called «Buran» made its longest flight. At the end of February 2022, during the Russian attack, the Mriya was destroyed. but the dream won`t be demolished.
But engineers of “Metal Time” revive the plane as self-assembly scale model. Here is the Exclusive Edition of the awards winning “Ukrainian Dream” model.
In memory of the outstanding unique aircraft, “Metal Time” presents the Ukrainian Dream, a model for self-assembly.
The aircraft is connected to the stand, which contains a winding spring mechanism with a key. The movement of the mechanism is transmitted to the «engines» by a system of gears and drives the blades on the turbines. The model contains colored stainless-steel parts. it`s the perfect gift for fans of aviation history. The Exclusive edition of the model has exclusive design features such as labels and writings on the fuselage. The “Ukrainian Dream EE” can be used separately from the stand. In this case, the automatic movement of the blades is not performed.
Together with Antonov, Metal Time supports Ukrainian aviation rebuilding programs, including:
- the restoration of the AN-225 Mriya aircraft;
- training of new pilots and aircraft engineers;
- the restoration of houses of Antonov employees, destroyed during the war.
Like all Metal Time DIY models, the “Ukrainian Dream EE” is made of eco-friendly stainless steel used in the food industry and approved to produce consumer goods and toys.
Precise cutting of the set eliminates the possibility of cuts during the assembly process. The parts are precisely adjusted to each other and will not create problems when assembling.
The pleasant tactile feeling, strength, and aesthetics of brushed metal favorably distinguish steel parts from wood or plastic used in other building kits.
Convenient flat packaging made of eco-friendly recyclable cardboard combines the compactness and aesthetics of a status gift.
Each purchase of a “Metal Time” model receives a club badge, a thank you card, and a unique number assigned to each model. Joining the “Metal Time” club opens additional opportunities for each buyer.
The “Ukrainian Dream EE” is not just a self-assembly model or a beautiful souvenir. This is a monument to the work of outstanding aircraft builders who managed to create a unique aircraft. Considering that the AN-225 existed in a single copy, this model is a chance to preserve a particle of this technical miracle and at the same time take part in its revival.
Assembling the “Ukrainian Dream EE” model is a difficult challenge for fans of technical creativity. A complex design and many details will require extreme concentration and a lot of time to achieve a result. This model belongs to the category of the hardest to build in the “Metal Time” collection.
Assembling the model is a great joint activity for the whole family, a friendly company, or members of a themed club.
But the result will justify all expectations.
