ASTRONAUTS LODGE SPACE STATION

MT017 Available
The International Space Station (ISS) is a modular space station (habitable artificial satellite) in low Earth orbit. The ownership and use of the space station is established by intergovernmental treaties and agreements. The station serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which scientific research is conducted in astrobiology, astronomy, meteorology, physics, and other fields. The ISS is suited for testing the spacecraft systems and equipment required for possible future long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars. The assembly of the ISS, a major endeavour in space architecture, began in November 1998. Russian modules launched and docked robotically, with the exception of Rassvet. All other modules were delivered by the Space Shuttle.

Prototype history

On a clear night when you look up at the sky you may be able to see what looks like a twinkling star, but it not be a star at all, it may be the international space station. The International Space Station (ISS) is the largest man-made object in space.

Thirty years ago it seemed impossible, but the space agencies from 5 countries, NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada)in sent the ISS into space. The first residents boarded the ISS in 2000.

The ISS became a symbol of international cooperation, and the end of the Cold War.

The ISS consists of 14 modules and weighs about 450 tons. It revolves around the Earth at an altitude of 340 kilometers, orbiting the planet 16 times earth day.

The ISS structure and modules belong to NASA, the European Space Agency, Japan, Brazil, Canada and the Russian Federation. These countries work together to research and gather information for space exploration.

PROTOTYPE HISTORY
HISTORY OF THE MODEL FORMATION

The ISS represents mankind’s most advanced technology. Research in outer space opens up the prospect for the future space travel, and even the potential of colonizing other planets. The significance of the space station cannot be overestimated. The ISS is an impressive engineering accomplishment. Each of the architects, engineers, designers and mechanics involved in its creation are considered to be the best at their job.

The designers of Metal Time wanted to pay tribute to the engineering genius to the creators of the artificial celestial body, by creating the model, the Astronauts Lodge.

Features, benefits

The Astronauts Lodge is made up of many different parts. These are two-dimensional solar panels, and three-dimensional modules and blocks, on a massive platform. To assemble it you will need patience, and it would benefit you to study the structure of the real ISS. Knowing the history, and purpose of each module, will add to the enjoyment of building the model.

Astronauts Lodge is equipped with an electric motor that allows the structure to rotate on its own axis. You can also manually adjust the tilt angle of the station to the surface where it is located.

The time spent on assembling the model will pay off when your model is a beautiful representation of the real ISS.

CHARACTERISTICS, BENEFITS
FEATURES, BENEFITS

The Astronauts Lodge is a wonderful gift for those who are interested space travel, fans of science fiction and complex engineering structures.

The space station’s interior is intricate and well appointed. The rotating stainless-steel model will look amazing on your desk or in your home.

Astronauts Lodge, like all Metal Time models, is made from the highest-quality stainless steel. Laser cutting does away with the sharp edges. The parts snugly, and firmly fit into each.

The high-quality stainless steel makes our models stand out versus models made from wood, or plastic.

Each buyer of the Astronauts Lodge model receives a Club Card, a Thank You card, and a unique serial number assigned to each model.

The Astronauts Lodge is made for users from the age of 14. The model research and assembly enhance technical creativity skills, inspires the study of science and technology history. The Astronauts Lodge looks beautiful displayed in your home or at your office, and it make an awesome gift.

Each of our models has a unique serial number, making them collectible and exchangeable. The Metal Time Owners' Club is a growing community of people who are passionate about designing.

The loyalty program "Metal Time" regularly brings pleasant surprises to the owners of our construction sets.
